Bio

Leigh Attwood is the co-founder, Managing Director and Head Distiller of Backwoods Distilling Co. in Yackandandah, Victoria. Since launching Backwoods, Leigh has helped build the distillery into one of Australia’s most awarded regional whisky producers, with major recognition across both single malt and rye whisky. His approach is grounded in regional provenance, close relationships with Australian growers and maltsters, and a practical obsession with flavour, cask maturation and making distinctive whisky that reflects where it comes from.
